Need a tail extension? How do you choose the right one? Our “Natural Tails“ are designed to provide length, volume, or both. For the unusual colors or mixed colors our tails are custom made.

For custom orders send us a picture of the tail from the sides and the rear. E-mails are ok.

For best results if you can include sample hair from the tail we get a better feel for the tail match. Let us know the approximate length you need for the extension and whether you want to add a lot of fullness or just want to match the actual fullness of the tail.

Natural Tails are designed to appear as a natural looking addition to the horses tail and will be carried like a real tail. They do not just flop back and forth between the hind legs.

They are not difficult to put in and when properly tied in they are a step above the rest. Each tail is handcrafted with 4 to 5 layers. They are legal in all breeds that allow extensions. Pocket are built into the tail if additional weight is need and legal. Lead fish weights can be pinned or sewn in the pockets.

Natural Tails need the same care as the horses real tail. Regular washing in a mild shampoo and conditioning will add life to the tail piece. Gentle brushing will add beauty to tail piece. Store the tail piece in a breathable tail bag.

How do you install the Natural Tail? Each Natural Tail piece is built on a fabric base that naturally forms a ring. Two loops are attached the top of the fabric . The best way to place the tail is to part the top third of the hair back, build a short braid in the center of the tail about as big around as the horses tail bone just below the tail bone. Wrap the Natural Tail around the braid. Now pull a few strands of hair through the loops and build a small braid on each side of the Natural Tail. Pull these braids tightly into the loops. The Natural Tail also has a channel around the top that will accommodate a shoe string. The shoe string can also be used to tighten the Natural Tail around the center braid. Now you are ready to go with a beautiful “Natural Tail”! When properly cared for these tails will last for years.
